Oct 2002: Well, it's been FOREVER since I've been able to get anything done here. I've been doing private consulting for a while to try and make ends meet. Doing ok, but not great. The market is just so tough out there these days. So many of us IT workers out of work, looking to cash in on a piece of the free-lance pie. Things are looking up agian though, we'll see. I have been keeping up with things over on Renderosity as best as possible. Have had trueSpace 6 for months now, and still haven't even cracked the manual for more than 20 minutes. Hoping to get more time agaon. Updated the gallery with a new image I'm working on for a challenge. This one is completely in trueSpace 1. It's not exactly what I'm used to. So many of the poly edit tools are not available. It's been a learning experience to learn how to do without again. :) More updates, textures, images, etc., etc., soon. :)
November:2001 Well, still looking for work. Been doing some free-lance stuff for the last couple of months. Still trying to get back to the tutorial I started. Every time I sit down to work on it, something pops up. Still working on some new models, materials and such for the libraries here (and other places. ;). Sorry the site has been static for so long. Just trying to keep things alive in the RW.
October 8th While the site has been updated since the last entry here. A lot has gone on in the world since the last update, and not much of it good news. I am still looking for full time employment, or some part-time consulting gigs to keep things running. During the 'down time' I've been working on a tutorial (the version I have on my HD has quite a bit more than the version you can download, still getting screen captures and phrasing down) and trying to improve my modeling skills even more. :) I have also placed the models section back on-line. Included now are license & read-me files. I hope to add a few other freebies very shortly. Sept 9th, 2001 Well, still haven't found any place to call home, but I haven't been looking with great vigor either. Soon to change. First contest at Renderosity is about to get underway :) We'll see how that goes. I'm hoping for a good turnout. Some may notice that I've removed the tS Webring logo and links from my site. This is due not to being removed from it, but having waited over 3 months to be included in it. Seem the folks running it are either no longer interested in it; or didn't want to include me. Which I really don't believe, since there have been a few sites I know of try to enter into it. :/ Oh well, their loss. More to come soon. Working on a few things to put up, model, textures, tutorials, etc., etc. Got to do something with all this "free time" I have these days. ;)
Aug 26th, 2001 There have been some recent changes in my employment status. That is to say, I've been reduced. This has given me a lot of stress, as well as relieving some. Now I have to figure out how to pay the bills. In the meantime, I've been learning more and more. There is a new WIP in the workshop. Still have to figure out a good texture to use with it, but that'll come. It's based loosely on a Star Trek space station. Also started moderating for Renderosity in their trueSpace forum. It's quite exciting and is teaching me new ways to look at trueSpace. :) Late July: 7/25/01 The first of the texture images are on-line. Just received a nice Sony DSC (Digital Still Camera) for my birthday (35th.. ahhhh, I'm old! But at least I haven't grown up yet. ;). Anyway, as I learn to control the cameras features the images will get better. But they're there all the same. First of my tutorials should be up soon as well. I'm hoping for this weekend, but we'll see. It will be on 'Profile Modeling'. Or "how to work with that damn draw panel' ;) Also working on the final touches to the new navigator for the site. Haven't really decided if I want to get cute with mouse-overs or just leave it in wood & black. Perhaps I'll take the short route just to get it up? We'll see. :) Mid-July Well, as you can see I've started to upload some of the new pages. Yeah, very plain, but I didn't want to keep the site as it was while I continue to work on the content. This also gives you an idea of some of the things I'm looking at adding. July 2001 Nearing completion of the new look for the site. Yeah, you don't see any changes here, but it's coming along. I have a couple things linked over on Renderosity, check the trueSpace free-stuff there. They're not linked on my pages yet. |
